They are actually known as Maiko, which is an apprentice geiko (not exactly same as geisha) in Kyoto, western Japan. They perform songs, dances, and playing the the koto (traditional Japanese instruments) for visitors during feasts. Some perform in hospitals and even overseas. They mostly work at night and take lessons to polish their skills during the day. Biasanya setiap hari menggunakan busana seperti itu karena itu profesi mereka. Dan termasuk budaya orang Jepang.
